In 2011, he was arrested by the Mumbai Police for rash driving. He was driving his Mercedes car when he rammed into another car in which a family of four people were travelling. According to the local police, the incident happened at around 6:45 am on Linking Road near Sab TV lane. Ronit was with his brother in the car. The local police arrested Ronit under two sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 279 for reckless driving on a public road and Section 338 for causing serious injuries to others by endangering their lives. Later, he was granted bail with as surety of Rs 12000 by the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

While he was working with the Indian actress Sara in the Hindi TV series ‘Adaalat,’ he had a tiff with her. In an interview Sara shared that he was very disrespectful with his co-actors. She said,

"On the day of the shoot, Ronit kept saying that he was acting with a bunch of madcaps.”
